Talking about WIKA’ s plans, Gaurav Bawa, Sr. Vice President-India Group, WIKA Instruments India Private Limited, said we are expanding the manufacturing facility in Pune by additional land and constructing a new building.
We are into the entire range of instrumentation. We also do calibration services and are into calibration of technology products. Wika is interested in a diverse range of instrumentation solutions.
WIKA product range and Applications
Regarding instrumentation, whether it is pressure, temperature, or level measurement, we are also into SF 6 gas handling and equipment and accessories such as valves, manifolds, and other types. As evidenced by the current IIoT trends, we are focusing a large portion of our investment on the innovation Center, located in our headquarters near Frankfurt, Germany. That is the largest investment for WIKA worldwide, and we are hopeful that innovative solutions will emerge from it in the coming years.
Prominent instruments in the market
People felt ecstatic to see the application demo we recently prepared, specifically for the Automation Expo. We created this type of application presentation. It’s a water tank application where we have mounted all of our products, from gauges to temperature transmitters, and everything is connected to an edge box. When we talk edge work, we’re talking about modules, gateways, and converters. The concept of this entire automation is in the industry trend, which is industry 4.0. Now Industry 5.0 has emerged, which is the value-driven IoT.
We showcased the demo unit with a dashboard which will be remotely accessible to the user. There is a set the alarm, which is a critical element. If there is temperature fluctuation, an SMS is sent to the phone as a GSM service to indicate an alarm. The unit demonstrates that one can put most of the instrumentation, applications, and this solution for the customer is a value-added service.
Automation practicesWIKA is new to Automation and our objective is very simple, we are taking action to become a major player of providing unique IIOT solutions, helping our customers benefit from greater , better process controls and predictive maintenance. All our products are communicable and can be connected to any gateway available in the market. This will help user to remote monitoring of their application through a dashboard.
Indigenous manufacturing
There’s a lot of emphasis on indigenous manufacturing right now. Everyone views India favourably as a future investment destination. Without a doubt, we have the talent, engineering capabilities, and service growth in India. But I believe that even on the manufacturing side, there is a lot of emphases today, with all of our overseas businesses expanding. Everyone is upbeat about the current market trend in India.
Expansion plans
We expanded into India last year. Even during the Covid, we opened a new plant and facility in Ghaziabad. We are also expanding a facility in Pune by purchasing additional land and constructing a new building. Consequently, we are also expanding some product lines there since there is a lot of emphasis on India as a manufacturing base. We are expanding our infrastructure and facilities. Also, we export many of our products to our subsidiaries worldwide
