There is an upshift in production levels as a whole, and we expect everyone’s excitement to lead to a successful show.
What are your expectations from IMTEX 2021?
Since IMTEX is happening after a long time gap due to the pandemic, the manufacturing industry is looking forward to seeing new trends and technologies. Visitors and exhibitors alike are excited to showcase, meet and discuss with each other about the products. It will also be nice to learn how other companies are integrating new technologies at IMTEX/Tooltech days. There is an upshift in production levels as a whole, and we expect everyone’s excitement to lead to a successful show.
What latest products, tools and manufacturing technologies are expected to be launched?
Wohlhaupter India in partnership with parent company Allied Machine and Engineering, the only manufacturer to focus solely on holemaking and finishing cutting tools for the metalcutting industry, highlight the next level of our signature T-A drills, the T-A Pro. The T-A Pro drill combines material-specific insert geometries, a redesigned drill body and a proprietary coolant-through system to allow penetration rates that run at speeds nearly 30% faster than other high-performance drills on the market. The T-A Pro high-penetration drilling system has been further expanded with the launch of a new high-speed steel geometry insert. This super cobalt insert works as a drill-everything insert while significantly lowering the risk for high- INR value components. When functioning in less than ideal conditions, the high-speed steel geometry provides superior performance and chip formation in addition to process security when needed most.
The range of Wohlhaupter external digital display tools in boring technology have been expanded as well. Wohlhaupter announces the expansion of boring tools offered with the launch of the 464 (465) fine boring head. This internally balanced fine boring head includes 3ETECH digital adjustment as well as analog vernier scale adjustment. One 3ETECH digital readout can be used on multiple adaptable 3ETECH boring heads including VarioBore, 537 (538) large diameter cassettes, 464 (465) fine boring heads and custom tooling solutions. The new 464 (465) fine boring heads have a full diameter range of 50 mm – 205mm(1.968” – 8.070”) with the lightweight aluminium Alu-Line boring heads ranging from 65.00 mm – 205.00mm(2.559” – 8.070”). Featuring the standard Wohlhaupter MVS connection, these boring heads provide the capability to adapt to any machine.
What upcoming trends do you envision for the manufacturing sector in 2022?
The industry has grown after the pandemic waves, and there is still pent up demand in consumers. We are hopeful that this trend will continue in 2022, and we will keep seeing further growth in the manufacturing sector. We also look forward to government initiatives moving in a positive direction, and the upcoming elections at regional level will further improve their industrialization.
What prospects do you envision for Atmanirbharta and Make-in-India to propel the manufacturing sector’s growth in India.More relaxed laws for the domestic players and easier rules to invest for the foreign companies will fuel further growth in the Make-In-India initiative and improvise the Atmanirbharta vision. An easy-to-do-business environment will be a welcome move.
Post pandemic induced lockdown, what innovations have taken place in your business?
We have reduced the need for physical interactions in all our internal and external activities to an extent. Paperless work and online meetings have helped us move in this direction. Ultimately, the key during the pandemic was adapting to the needs of the customer to maintain success within a growing market.
What areas in your business do you aim to improve through your prediction of IoT trends?
Production related activities are the first to get improved with IoT trends. Smarter and easy-to-use products will be one more direct benefit.
Transition to industry 4.0 is still in its nascent stage and only select companies are eyeing focus on industry 5.0. How will IMTEX encourage this process?
Some companies have started planning for the long term, considering the time it takes to develop technologies. IMTEX will act as a platform to discuss with manufacturers and customers about their feedback and requirements and what they can do to further develop Industry 5.0.
