Since 1937 Daifuku has been evolved in the business of material handling systems. How do you see the market ahead?
The last 80 years have definitely been great but the future is going to be overwhelmingly exciting. Never before has the field of intralogistics looked so exciting, not only in terms of the opportunity but also with many breakthrough technologies coming into play. Technologies such as IoT, Industry 4.0 and robots working alongside humans etc.
What new technology or solution you are bringing in this year?
We are continuously revamping our controls and software architecture. This year the focus continues to be on the same. We realise that we can truly unleash the market potential when we reach the market’s price expectations. So, we will focus more on this front.
How important is current scenario of market and customer requirements for you? What initiatives do you take?
Unless we wholeheartedly listen to the customers, we can never sell anything. Our business model has been to consult first, understand the customers’ current processes and then optimise. Whilst the requirement of the customers has stayed fairly the same, the issue has been to provide a solution that matches their budget and expectations. We are working on it.
What makes your solutions different from the rest providing it?
Could you explain how well installation and maintenance services for logistics systems are taken care of?As with every machine proper care and maintenance needs to be taken to ensure uptime and longevity. As this is a niche system we offer various after sales and maintenance programs to ensure our customers don’t have any issues in operations.
Are you looking out for further expansion?
Our focus is on India only. We are looking to expand our portfolio of offerings in India.
Never before has the field of intralogistics looked so exciting, not only in terms of the opportunity but also with many breakthrough technologies coming into play.
