Increasing the share of 3D technologies in Indian manufacturing

By April 2, 2021 8:24 am IST

Nitin Chaudhari, Partner, Shree Rapid Technologies, in an interview with OEM Update, talks about their various offerings for the manufacturing industry. He also discussed the expected growth opportunities in manufacturing sector.

How is digitalisation transforming your businesses?

Fortunately, I believe we have been on the right side of this transformation. At SRT we have been promoting, consulting and supporting digital manufacturing for over 14 years now. It started with Jewellery, dental / healthcare followed and 2020 has been a defining moment for the industrial segment considering supply chains as well as manufacturing challenges. This year has been the best year for our company.

What kind of 3D printing and digital technologies do you offer to the industries?

The core objective at Shree Rapid Technologies is driving adoption of digital manufacturing workflows. With this strategic vision and objective, we offer 3D printing equipment from global leaders including 3D Systems, Markforged, 3D Ceram, Titomic, Fronius and Zortrax. In order to extend our offerings to digital manufacturing, design, and inspection we also offer 3D scanning technologies for reverse engineering and inspection from Zeiss as well as GOM (a Zeiss company). To offer a complete package we also represent brands such as DyeMansion and Materialise for design to cad to post-processing technologies making us the only provider of Digital Manufacturing Workflows in India. Finally, this is complemented by our Customer Innovation Centre (CIC) which hosts over 15+ equipment across various technologies and materials to demonstrate all of this under one roof and walk the talk.

You have been providing injection moulding technologies also. Injection moulding is starting to turn towards digitalisation, how is your company focusing on the same?

How do you see the demand for 3D printing and injection moulding in India in the coming 3 – 5 years?

With clear vision laid out by our respectable Prime Minister and our observation of on ground developments for at least the last 12 months one thing is clear; India is showing significant growth in Manufacturing. With make in India, which also is leading to design/innovate in India, I am absolutely certain that the next 3-5 years are going to be watershed years for the manufacturing industry. 3D printing / additive manufacturing being the most sought after I am expecting hyper growth as well as adoption across the board.

What are your plans and projections for the next 2 years?

As a company we have been fortunate to have grown 3 times in the last 4 years. But in continuation to my comments above I believe that our growth expectations are to grow at least 40 percent -50 percent year-on-year going forward for a couple of years.

“With initiatives like Make in India, the next 5 years are going to be the turning point for Indian manufacturing.”
