Managing just-in-time inventory to optimise storage
We completely believe in Just in Time (JIT) inventory management to boost our growth as well as lower the inventory carrying cost. We only order or manufacture as per the demand that arises. This increases our efficiency and decreases wastage of resources. Working with the as per demand model helps us to manage our storage in an enhanced way and optimises the output as well as the storage capacities.
Women’s employment in equipment manufacturing industry
The rise of the women workforce has been tremendous in recent times. Following the inclusive and diversity ideology, we at Kanchan Metals have been consciously hiring all the more women employees. They come with skills of effective management, efficient leadership, mindful problem solving capabilities and work hard with determination.
Overcoming challenges faced in equipment manufacturing
Looking for skilled and trained manpower is the biggest challenge for technology development in the equipment manufacturing segment. This is primarily due to the lack of formal education. Even though we strengthen our research and development, for new product development, we rely on technology transfer from overseas companies for the development of high-end machinery in India. We face difficulties in finding the trained manpower. Aiming to resolve this problem, many a times, various manufacturers are trying to launch internship programs in order to provide proper training to their workforce. Adding to that, with government assistance in R&D activities, local manufacturers such as ourselves can get a boost to invest resources into the development of new machinery as well as connect with leading machinery manufacturers to discuss technology transfer/JV. All these initiatives collectively will help bridge the gaps that exist in the sector and boost its digital transformation.
Manufacturing facilities including IoT and automationWe are mainly providing new-age solutions to the snacking industry; which itself is a vast field. We are offering solutions for blending, conveying, frying, seasoning, weighing, washing, as well as product distribution applications.
Automation is the key to control for all process requirements and is used for ingredient batching and mixing, water and oil dosing and seasoning and distribution area, temperature and dual time control in frying, and automatic moisture control.
Towards manufacturing automation; we have already started glass bead blasting for the better exterior finish of the equipment. We plan to go for a vertical milling center and laser cutting for speedier along with precision machining and automation profile cutting of the sheets in the times to come.
International collaborations to bring better technology to Indian market
As the world is evolving and adopting innovations, the consumers’ lifestyle, behaviors, preferences as well as purchasing patterns are also changing. The shift in consumer preferences has been the major reason behind the increased production and distribution of food products at the global level. Furthermore, with the burgeoning urban as well as young population, the demand for ready-to-eat, processed foods and convenience food is surging significantly and is set to increase in the coming years as well. This is also pushing the food equipment manufacturers to introduce innovative products so as to meet the growing and diversifying demands of the consumers. We understand this and are making concerted efforts to meet the future demands of the consumers.
As one of the leading OEMs in the food processing segment, we are trying to bring a vast choice of cutting-edge machinery for our customers both in the Indian and overseas markets and also tying up with international brands to bring international technology to the Indian market. Shortly, Indian manufacturers will see a lot more infiltration of international technology to process consumer demands.
Kanchan Metal’s focus on future expansion plans

We have three plants situated in Greater Noida, UP. Snack food and Indian namkeens are CMU for a large Indian company. Both these plants have large capacities and employ approximately 400 people. The plant and machinery are best in class available globally and are automated with no/very less human intervention. Our processes/establishments are ISO 22000 certified, and we employ highly skilled manpower. Our main strength is our technical capability, and we employ close to 50 qualified engineers for all our operations.
