Garuda Aerospace, India’s leading drone startup, has teamed up with over 120 Make In India companies to achieve complete indigenization of the drone industry. This initiative will bolster the Make In India initiative, providing support to local manufacturers and companies who produce batteries, motors, and 75 other components required for drone production.
Garuda Aerospace will collaborate with its partners through joint ventures, technology transfers, supplier arrangements, and investments to help local manufacturers meet the growing demand for Made In India drones. The company aims to make India a global drone hub by 2030. Notable partnerships include Central Government, Public Sector Undertakings like BEML, and State government bodies like TIDCO. Valdel is already supplying to IPO Bound Idea Forge and Adani backed General Aeronautics and Vector Technics. They have also agreed to partner with Garuda Aerospace to supply drone components.
“The recent discovery of lithium in Jammu and Kashmir has presented opportunities for Garuda Aerospace to use Lithium-Ion or Lithium Polymer batteries, the primary power source for drones. The global drone parts and components market is currently dominated by China, with 80% of parts originating from the country. India aims to reduce its dependence on China and become self-reliant.” concluded, Agnishwar Jayaprakash.
Garuda Aerospace is the first-ever Made in India drone startup to receive the Dual DGCA certifications of both Type Certificate for manufacturing and RPTO for training drone pilots. The company also raised $22 million, the largest ever Series A funding in the drone sector. Garuda Aerospace has also recently showcased its indigenous disaster management drones to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah and Director General NDRF at 3rd session of the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR).
