Vedanta Aluminium appoints John Slaven as vice-chairman of IAI

Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, has appointed CEO John Slaven as Vice-Chairman of the International Aluminium Institute (IAI).
Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium manufacturer, has appointed its CEO, John Slaven, as Vice-Chairman of the International Aluminium Institute. In this post, Slaven will lead global efforts aimed at promoting the sustainable transformation of the aluminium industry and highlighting aluminium’s important role in allowing the energy transition to a zero-carbon contemporary world.
The International Aluminium Institute (IAI), founded in 1972, is the only organisation representing the main aluminium sector globally. Its mission is to raise knowledge of the industry’s activities, advocate for responsible production, and highlight the considerable benefits of employing aluminium in the development of greener technology. The present IAI membership includes the world’s top bauxite, alumina, and aluminium producers. It also has the most extensive global data on the aluminium industry, with over 40 years of analysis of production, consumption, energy use, and environmental impact.
