[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This year, Taiwan is ranked 2nd, in terms of the numbers of exhibitors participating at EMO and 3rd in regards to exhibition space. Taiwan, which is about the size of the Switzerland but with a population of some 23 million people, is a country that fosters many industries with the ability to rival the world’s ‘best of the best.’ As the world’s 4th largest ex- porter of machinery tools and components, Taiwan has averaged $4 billion in exports for each of the last few years from a network of more than 1,000 precision machinery manufacturers and more than 10,000 upstream suppliers.
Walter Yeh, the president and CEO of TAITRA stated that in 2018, the Taiwan machinery industry saw its annual production rate rise to a record- setting high of roughly $39.2 billion USD. At the same time, Taiwan exported a total value of $4.8 billion USD in machinery tools and components, an in- crease of 8.28per cent from the same period of last year. Taiwan’s machinery tool industry has long been a close competitor with the world’s top machine tool makers who are also global industry giants – and yet, Taiwan possesses nowhere near as many natural resources as Germany, Italy or Japan.
The Intelligent Machinery Program is one of Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen’s 5 major industrial development programs. In 2018, the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) also launched a 5-year program to in- stall more than 9,000 smart machine boxes (SMBs), which will enable companies to instantly add Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity to existing equipment. The goal is to collect production data that can facilitate the visualisation of production management and the optimisation of production scheduling. By bringing smart features to machinery and devices, the MOEA aims to increase the quality, efficiency, precision and reliability of production thereby boosting the competitiveness of Taiwanese companies.
In addition, the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) issued a white paper last year, that envisions the local industry with an annual out- put of NT$2 trillion (US$64.9 billion) by 2025. Taiwan’s machinery and telecommunications industries are competitive and must not be a part of industry 4.0, according to TAMI Chairman Alex Ko. He added that the white paper is being issued as a blueprint for government, academia and industry – as the industry aspires to reach a projected growth rate of 8per cent per year.
The global manufacturing industry is transitioning from mass production to customised and fast-R&D-based products, thereby progressively incorporating
smart manufacturing technologies. Taiwan’s machinery tool manufacturers are capitalising on Taiwan’s abundant expertise in the ICT industry to provide their clients with competitive, smart functions including remote management and monitoring. As a result, this year, a couple of Taiwanese companies will be showcasing smart manufacturing solutions that meet the burgeoning demands for Industry 4.0 and automation, such as FFG-themed “FOCUS ON SMART PRODUCTION” display, YCM’s iDirect Management System and Goodway’s G.LINC, G.NET, SVI management system. In parallel, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) & Cooperate Synergy Development Center (CSD) organised the Tai- wan Smart Manufacturing Pavilion which demonstrates equipment visualisation, smart management systems and solutions.
➢ The Taiwan Smart Machinery Industry Pavilion
Visit Hall 9, E008 at EMO 2019 to seize this opportunity to explore world- class innovations and technologies. This pavilion will demonstrate equipment visualisation and smart management through the internet of equipment. From smart machinery to smart factories – smart manufacturing and global market connections are achieved. Trends in today’s industrial development have already advanced from visualisation to the active use of data to control and analyse the operational status of equipment. Data obtained through the IoT service and AI diagnostics not only allow for a predictive diagnosis, they also enable quick visualisation and precise adjustment and maintenance, when processing conditions changes.
CNC will use its open or universal machine tool communication interfaces to connect the various forms and types of machinery tools that will be on display. This will facilitate an easier exchange of information, which will create added value and accelerate industrial evolution.
In this exhibition, Taiwan’s smart manufacturing IoT manufacturers will collaborate with German’s UMATI communication interface to create metal processing solutions. PMC and ITRI will use UMATI standard protocol to transmit equipment information to their cloud platform in order to show- case joint applications.
- The Institute for Information Industry’s SQUARE BOX can simultaneously capture various frequencies from heterogeneous sensors and perform remote frequency modulation in accordance with the requirements of the data
- The ITRI will demonstrate the capabilities of the internet. It will integrate different communication protocols and related applications for data collection and
- LITE-ON’s IA solutions can gradually replace highly repetitive manual labor tasks, increase production quality and decrease manufacturing costs. We enable factory remote control through our products’ high- speed communication and work Our customers can access real time production statistics, such as power consumption or abnormal events for further analytics and necessary actions.
- The MIRDC has integrated mold design simulation and process systems, optic mold adjustment expert systems, fastener molding monitoring systems, molding quality analysis and pre-diagnosis system, automated sampling system and other technologies to construct a ” smart manufacturing demonstration production line for the metal fastener industry”. It provides the industry with a systematic approach to production to achieve flexibility, rapid line change, quality control and production traceability – thereby enabling customised smart manufacturing solutions.
- PMC will also display exhibits that are appropriate for complex and highly variable manufacturing environments. It will demonstrate how industries can achieve smarter manufacturing when confronted with change. By integrating automation practices, implementing Industrial IoT (IIoT) technology and incorporating algorithms – industries can achieve the benefits of smart manufacturing and smart machinery from smart scheduling systems. Moreover, using SkyMars to integrate different communication interfaces for devices, they can attain a unified in- formation transmission platform that can rapidly construct an IIoT and easily obtain equipment information. Furthermore, they can establish a production management system and spindle pre-diagnosis systemto generate and record instant and detailed on-site production information.
- Yinsh Precision emphasises that each bearing has appropriate axial torque tightening for standard installations. However, varying conditions such as precise nut specification, clearance whole, bearing type and brand, spacer hardness, thread surface and the end surface treatment – have significant influence on the torque and axial force. The axial torque sensor developed by Yinsh Precision directly measures the axial torque generated when the precision nut is mounted onto the main shaft, which significantly refines the precision and product stability of the main shaft
- In addition, com, Taiwan’s foremost B2B portal, will be showcasing smart manufacturing solutions that meet the burgeoning demands of Industry 4.0 and automation, including Noveltek’s Automatic Guide Vehicle (AGV) and IoT powered AI material handling system, Yenchang Hardware’s Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) controlled servo press solution, Varitron’s and Nitech Motor’s robot arm control components, as well as machine protection and control components from Sang Mao, and industrial cooling solutions from ShyuanYa.
➢ Key Taiwan Exhibitors at EMO 2019
In line with Industry 4.0 and in aspiring to meet growing global demands for smart automated manufacturing equipment, Taiwan’s machinery companies are scrambling to produce smart models, by incorporating advanced information technology into their products.
Fair Friend Group (Hall 14), established in 1979, is now the third largest machinery tool group in the world. FFG owned 37 machinery tool brands and 50 production bases worldwide. At EMO 2019, FFG’s exhibit will fill the entire hall 14, showcasing over 35 machines from 20 machine tool brands and offering the smart manufacturing solutions integrated with future 5G net- working applications for various industries, including automotive, aero- space, railway, mold and electronics.
- ‘Equipment Preventive Maintenance’ (EPM): allows users to monitor the spindle loading, spindle vibration, bearing temperature and motor tempe The data is shown on screen, helping users maintain the equipment in good operatingcondition.
