Runaya inaugurates Calcium Aluminate Plant in Jharsuguda, advancing green recovery

The Calcium Aluminate Plant represents a strategic expansion of Runaya’s Green Aluminium portfolio, introducing the environmentally friendly RuCal Green, Calcium Aluminate to its Steel Slag Conditioner segment.
Runaya, a leader in sustainable manufacturing and recycling, inaugurated its cutting-edge Calcium Aluminate Plant in Jharsuguda. The launch marks a pivotal moment in Runaya’s journey towards environmental leadership and technological advancement within the industry.
Keeping sustainability at its core, Runaya’s Green aluminium recovery plant is at the center of technology-enabled innovation. With a capacity of 12,000 metric tons per annum, this facility will be able to deliver green premium product to customers across the Steel Industry. Through the utilization of green raw materials, such as the depleted dross, Runaya is at the forefront of driving a circular economy, reducing its carbon footprint.
The Calcium Aluminate Plant represents a strategic expansion of Runaya’s Green Aluminium portfolio, introducing the environmentally friendly RuCal Green, Calcium Aluminate to its Steel Slag Conditioner segment. To be operated solely on 100% green and renewable energy sources by FY25, this facility sets a new benchmark for sustainability within the industry.
Key highlights of the Calcium Aluminate Plant include new technological advancements with Runaya’s electric arc furnace, being the largest in India among Calcium Aluminate plants, will be fully automated, ensuring optimal efficiency and productivity. It will occupy 2.5 acres of land. The plant boasts a current production capacity of 30,000 tons per annum of slag conditioners, inclusive of briquettes and Calcium Aluminate.The Unique Selling Point (USP) is that Runaya’s Calcium Aluminate products are environmentally conscious, promoting sustainability. Moreover, the use of single-source raw materials ensures product homogeneity, while solutions are tailored to meet clients’ specific needs. Runaya actively participates in a Waste to Wealth initiative, converting dross into value-added products essential for steelmaking, aligning with a zero waste and zero-discharge strategy.
