NORD Drivesystems to present drive solutions at the FMB exhibition

Drive specialist NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will showcase its range of mechanical engineering products at the Fachmesse für Maschinenbau (FMB) exhibition centre in Bad Salzuflen from 5 to 7 November 2024.

Drive specialist NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will present its wide range of products for mechanical engineering from 5 to 7 November 2024 in the exhibition centre in Bad Salzuflen. In Hall 20 at Stand D2, visitors can find out more about the drive solutions from the system supplier’s modular products. The main focus is on the energy-efficient IE5+ synchronous motors and the decentralised NORDACON/ON+ frequency inverters.

NORD’s IE5+ synchronous motors stand for the highest level of efficiency and operational reliability. They surpass the highest defined efficiency class and are characterised by their compact, hygienic design in a very small installation space. They are available in various versions: as a TENV smooth-surface motor, as a TEFC motor with cooling fins, and as an integrated DuoDrive geared motor. The latter combines the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with a single-stage helical gear unit in one housing. IE5+ synchronous motors with efficiencies of up to 95% over a wide torque range also provide optimum energy consumption performance in partial load and partial speed ranges. Their power varies between 0.35 kW and 4 kW depending on the version.

NORDAC ON/ON+ decentralised drive electronics The decentralised NORDAC ON/ON+ frequency inverters are characterised by their compact design, full plug-in capability, and high reliability. They also offer PLC functionality for drive-related functions (PLC onboard) and an integrated Ethernet interface. ProfiNET, EtherNET IP, and EtherCAT can be set via parameters. NORDAC ON was designed for applications with asynchronous motors, whereas NORDAC ON+ was designed for the combination with the IE5+ synchronous motor. The inverters are intended for power ranges from 0.37 kW to 3 kW and significantly reduce the wiring effort. With their plug-and-play function, they provide a maintenance-friendly and economical solution for modern production environments.

NORDAC PRO SK 500P: versatile and intelligent With the NORDAC PRO SK 500P, NORD offers a control cabinet inverter for practically any drive application. The inverter in book-size format convinces with its high overload capability and is available in various variants. It covers a power range from 0.25 to 22 kW, which will be expanded in the future. Further features include the USB, multi-encoder, and multi-protocol interfaces. The integrated PLC reduces the load by 1/3 on the higher-level PLC, and various positioning tasks can be implemented with the POSICON positioning function. NORDAC PRO SK 500P allows to control all motor types with and without encoder feedback and enables variant reduction in the control cabinet.

Keeping an eye on the drive at all times With the NORDCON APP for mobile maintenance and commissioning of frequency inverters, NORD enables the diagnosis, analysis, parametrisation, and monitoring of the drive systems via a mobile terminal device for service use. The NORDAC ACCESS BT is a Bluetooth stick that is used directly with the frequency inverter; this ensures convenient mobile access to the drive data while at the same time access control.
