ACMA supports Ministry of Home Affairs’ guidelines for containment of COVID-19 pandemic

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has issued guidelines on measures to be adopted for containment of COVID-19 pandemic. The Indian auto component industry contributes 2.3 percent to India’s national GDP and provides employment to 5 million people. Explaining the position of industry body Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) on resuming operations in the auto component sector, Deepak Jain, President ACMA remarked, “The guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs are indeed very comprehensive and detailed. ACMA stands firmly by the government in this hour of crisis and would abide by its directive. Health, safety and welfare of our employees are foremost on our minds. We are also in touch with our customers, the OEMs and resumption of our operations would be aligned to their commencing operations as also on the directions from the local authorities.”
