Schneider Electric has introduced EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management, a digital solution that collects and aggregates data for short interval management meetings. The platform, integrated with AVEVA Data Hub, optimises meeting cycles and collects data for KPIs.
Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has unveiled EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management, a digital solution that collects and aggregates data across industrial operations to create key performance indicators (KPIs) for short interval management (SIM) meetings, in which shop floor teams review production cycles and identify issues and actions that need to be taken.
In the modern era, digital data is widely recognised as one of the most valuable industrial resources. However, an AWS and Frost & Sullivan study found that less than 5 percent of plant data is transformed into actionable insights. More industrial organisations are seeking solutions that scale operational value across many sites.
EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management provides a user-friendly collaborative interface for digitizing and optimizing SIM meeting cycles at one or more facilities. It automatically collects important information technology and operational technology data for KPIs such as productivity, service levels, quality, safety, and sustainability, and provides real-time access to on-site or remote data. Users can see concerns in real time and follow preventative and corrective measures until they are completely remedied.
“Digital transformation is not just a technological challenge; it requires a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement,” said Ali Haj Fraj, Senior Vice President for the Digital Factory Line of Business at Schneider Electric. “EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management puts plant and supply chain information in the hands of workers, they can make the best decisions in real time and boost productivity.”The open platform, which can be implemented on any hardware, integrates with AVEVA Data Hub, a solution that aggregates and stores vast quantities of real-time data generated by Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices. This sparks faster digital transformation by removing the need for proof of concepts.
“This new offer demonstrates what is possible with collaboration,” said Harpreet Gulati, Senior Vice President for Planning, Simulation, and Optimisation Business at AVEVA. “Our software manages shop floor teams, machines, and processes, dispatching work and collecting data. EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management layers on improvements, driving manufacturing performance, powering faster issue escalation, decision-making, and problem solving. Together, we provide greater value to customers.”
EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management system, built on Schneider Electric’s 20-year expertise in supply chain transformation and lean manufacturing, is already utilized by over 70,000 operators and in several of Schneider Electric’s own smart plants, exhibiting industrial excellence in: Increasing operational efficiency by up to 5 percent while dramatically boosting safety. Driving ongoing improvement with a 33 percent decrease in shift handover activities. Increasing people’s empowerment for three time faster problem resolution open, scalable, and cyber-secure IIoT platform speeds up digital transformation.
