ABB India boosts green operations with EV in Bengaluru

ABB India is driving sustainability in logistics by launching electric vehicles (EVs) in its Bengaluru operations. This initiative is part of the company’s broader commitment to reducing carbon emissions and supporting its global net zero goals. By transitioning to EVs for transporting goods, ABB India is setting a strong example in eco-friendly industrial practices.

ABB India has introduced Electric Vehicles (EVs) into its commercial logistics operations as part of its commitment to building a low-carbon and sustainable future. This initiative aligns with the company’s global Net Zero targets and aims to reduce Scope-3 greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain.

The EV fleet will be deployed to transport raw materials and finished goods between ABB’s Smart Power factory in Nelamangala and its Distribution Centre in Hanchipura, in addition to handling last-mile deliveries within Bengaluru. This step reinforces ABB’s ongoing efforts to integrate environmentally responsible practices into its core operations.

The official launch of the EV transition at the Smart Power facility and Hanchipura Distribution Centre was marked by the presence of senior ABB leaders, including Kiran Dutt (Electrification Commercial Lead), Saju SR (MU Manager), Jothi Prakash (Cluster Manager), Sergio Silvestri (Hub Manager, ELSP), Sergio Buttice (Commercial Operations Manager), and Kanda DB.

In a parallel development, ABB India flagged off its first electric truck for internal logistics at the Peenya unit. The event was led by Tuomo Hoysniemi, President of ABB Drive Products, and AR Madhusudan, Local Division Manager.

By shifting to electric logistics, ABB India is strengthening its leadership in sustainability and environmental stewardship. The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to ethical and responsible business operations, while supporting broader global climate action goals.
