Siemens introduces Run MyRobot interface, a simple solution for connecting robots to machine tools
Siemens introduces Run MyRobot interface that enables robots from different manufacturers to be connected to machines fitted with Sinumerik 828D CNC controllers.
With the Sinumerik 828 controllers, Siemens is now offering a simple solution for connecting robots to machine tools. This represents an integral part of automated production cells set-up. To perform handling tasks, different types of robots designed by different manufacturers can now be connected to machines fitted with CNC controllers Sinumerik 828D using the Sinumerik Integrate Run MyRobot/EasyConnect interface.
This enables companies of any size to set up automated cells even on serial machines cost-effectively and without any major effort – even with different types of CNC controls using the same standard interface. Features for the simple optimisation of work processes on machine tools, mobile condition monitoring and remote maintenance round off the new solution for setting up automated cells.
Sinumerik Integrate Run MyRobot/EasyConnect is based on a standard defined by the German Machine Tool Builders’ Association and the German Engineering Association for connecting robots or handling systems to machine tools. To make it as easy as possible to use the interface, Siemens has taken over the main elements of the comprehensive standard. The robots are connected through an Ethernet (Profinet RT) or using I/O signals.
