The upcoming edition of HANNOVER MESSE, scheduled from March 31 to April 4, 2025, promises to be a hub of cutting-edge industrial technologies. With AI, smart manufacturing, and global collaboration at its core, the event will drive innovation and economic resilience, addressing the challenges of an evolving global landscape.
As industries grapple with major economic challenges, HANNOVER MESSE 2025 is set to provide companies with new technologies to enhance efficiency and competitiveness. Speaking at the pre-press event in Hannover, Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of Deutsche Messe AG, emphasised the event’s role in driving industrial transformation.
Köckler highlighted geopolitical shifts impacting global markets, pointing to the United States’ continued “America First” policy and China’s intensified focus on industrial growth. He called for Europe and its partners, including Canada—HANNOVER MESSE 2025’s official partner—to collaborate on a robust economic strategy. “At HANNOVER MESSE, uncertainty turns into confidence, both in terms of technology and politics,” he stated.
A global stage for innovation
The event will feature around 4,000 companies spanning engineering, electronics, digital technology, and energy sectors, showcasing solutions for the future of production and energy supply. Artificial intelligence (AI) will be a central theme, with real-world applications taking centre stage.
Industry giants such as Amazon Web Services, Bosch, Google, Microsoft, Schneider Electric, and Siemens will participate alongside mid-sized tech firms like Beckhoff, Festo, and Harting. Research institutions, including Fraunhofer and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), will also present their latest innovations. Additionally, over 300 startups will demonstrate cutting-edge technologies poised to reshape industrial processes.
AI driving industrial advancements.
With increasing global competition, businesses seek solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency. AI is no longer a futuristic concept but a present-day reality, delivering tangible benefits. Köckler noted, “Industrie 4.0 started at HANNOVER MESSE; now we are advancing it with AI.”
The event will focus on ensuring that businesses can seamlessly integrate AI into their operations. Attendees will gain access to practical solutions, expert insights, and real-world case studies showcasing AI-driven improvements in machine learning, robotics, and automation.
Real-world applications in focus“HANNOVER MESSE is designed for decision-makers at all levels,” said Köckler. From production managers seeking robotics solutions to CEOs strategising digital transformations, the event will provide access to key contacts and innovative solutions.
A major attraction will be the “Application Park,” where exhibitors will demonstrate robotics applications, such as laser welding optimisation and sustainable battery production. “Companies will gain valuable insights to produce faster, more precisely, and in a more resource-efficient manner,” Köckler explained.
A call for a clear economic strategy
Beyond technology, the event will be a forum to discuss global economic strategies. Köckler emphasised that staying competitive requires a well-defined industrial policy. As the U.S. maintains its protectionist stance and China accelerates industrial growth, Europe and its partners must develop a solid economic roadmap.
“HANNOVER MESSE will play a crucial role in fostering innovation and international cooperation,” Köckler stated. “In the coming years, the event will become even more important as a platform for European industry and global partnerships.”
