By OEM Update Editorial February 9, 2019 12:19 pm
BILTZ Cutting Tools Company has introduced a new Solid-Carbide Drill for deep-hole production. The new deep-hole drills are available with length ratios in 15xD, 20xD, 25xD, and 30xD. Available diameters range are from 3.0 to 14.0 mm.
These tools are specially developed for the production of parts for the automotive, oil-and-gas, mould-and-die, medical, and general engineering sectors. These drills have a faceted point geometry with a point angle of 135°.
This cone-point geometry gives it a low thrust and excellent centering ability, for increased hole quality. The drill design includes a high-strength core and wider opened flute design of 30-degree helix that allows easy evacuation of chips. Its four-margin design improves stability during drilling. Highly polished surfaces increase wear resistance and reduce friction on margins and cutting edges. The tools are coated keeping in mind the area of application of the user. Internal coolant holes accommodate all types of cutting fluids and operating conditions, including minimum quantity lubrication.
They have special machining capabilities and specially engineered support systems for regrinding and recoating of these extra-long tools.
