Dewang Kapadia, CEO, Cloos India Welding Technology Private Limited discusses “Make in India”, “Digital India” and their widely spread competence of Cloos from welding technology, robot mechanics and controller to positioners, software and sensors.
Make in India in Indian welding industry
With the push by Indian Government for Make in India, many Indian companies have successfully started producing high tech products in India. Cloos has been a supply partner for a large robotic welding system, which has already been inaugurated by the Honourable Prime Minister of India. Similarly, many other metal fabricators have embraced the Cloos advanced manual MIG welding power source to get better quality of weld with minimum splatter.
Digital presence welding industry
Cloos has been in the forefront in offering Industry 4.0 compliant welding, welding automation and robotic systems. We see India leapfrogging and embracing this new digital era at a very fast pace, including welding industry.
With the new Cloos C-Gate, our customers can connect their robot systems and improve their own production processes and the product quality by means of the new information. With the production module, users can illustrate the performance and efficiency of robot systems, localise shortages and increase the efficiency. The module allows a comprehensive online monitoring of the robot systems with a detailed reporting about availability, capacity and quality.
Giving credibility to welding
Cloos welding products are in use in India for more than 40 years now. The strength of Cloos is the widely spread competence. From welding technology, robot mechanics and controller to positioners, software and sensors – Cloos supplies everything from a single source. As we see our journey in India, we feel the importance of quality welding is becoming a mainstay in the manufacturing industry in India. Noting that welding is also quite human-centric and the fact that there is an availability of large number of young workforce, India has the potential to become the welding capital of the world.
The industry, educational institutes, and government has to synchronise their activities to bring Indian welding industry to a high technological competitive level. Cloos, as a supplier of welding power sources and robotic systems, extensively, collaborate with Indian engineering fraternity to further popularise and create a level of importance of automated digital welding technology for the Indian manufacturing industry.
Metal welding trend
No matter if thick or thin, steel or aluminium, Cloos offers the right welding process for every product requirement. Newer processes are still being developed on this fronts for welding of two different metals like electron beam welding, laser welding, laser hybrid welding, etc.
Industry’s robust roadmap
From a scale of 1 to 10, we feel Indian industry is just above the half-way mark, but the pace of growth is accelerating and the present initiatives such as Made in India, Digital India, Skill India etc. will ensure India becomes an even more powerful manufacturing hub for worldwide supply.
The trio, industry, educational institutes, and government, has to synchronise their activities to bring Indian welding industry to a very high technological competitive level
