Customised new-age solutions to meet industrial demands in MHE

By OEM Update Editorial March 7, 2020 10:41 am

Manufacturing solutions that cater to specific industrial demands and comply with the standards and regulations operating in the industry are the need of the hour. Here we take a look at them.

The global market for material handling equipment (MHE) is being extensively driven by a strong emphasis on production and operational efficiency and worker safety. Moreover, the manufacturing sector is driven by automation in manufacturing processes against a backdrop of growing pressure to optimise raw material, resource and energy consumption.

Automation and IoT capabilities in bulk MHE
Growing automation capabilities in the manufacturing space, coupled with increasing penetration of advanced technologies like IoT, RFID, and AI, are expected to drive the material handling equipment market growth. Automated material handling systems are gaining popularity with the growing inclination of industries towards replacing human labour with automated systems.

The industry is characterised by strategic acquisitions and collaborations with technology providers to offer enhanced solutions. Players extensively stress on manufacturing solutions that cater to specific industry demands complying with the standards and regulations operating in the industry. Increasing investments in the research and development of new automation solutions will further contribute to industrial growth.

AMH equipment market by product:

  • Robots
  • Conveyors and sortation systems
  • Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRSs)
  • Cranes
  • Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)

Market restraints:

  • High upfront cost of AMH equipment for SMEs
  • High integration and switching cost

Accommodating Indian consumer requirements with customised cost-competitive technology
“New Age believes in customised solutions for rope suspended platforms for our clients with higher safety features. L-type (90’), C-shape, curve-shape, W-shape, square-shape, Front Extension Platforms (fixed/folding) and multiple modifications in suspension mechanism are highly appreciated and accepted by the trend setters in construction segment,” says Rohit Bambhaniya, Marketing Head, New Age Construction Equipment Eng. Co.

Mentioned below is an example for providing customised onsite solutions:
Square-shaped gondolas
Site location: BG Shirke: Virar, Mumbai
Square-shaped gondolas (rope suspended platforms) were initially introduced by New Age Construction Equipment Eng. Co. at BG Shirke, Virar and Mumbai site. It was a special design of a working platform proposed for duct/shaft areas for higher safety, faster work, and higher productivity.

This machine is easily accessible for all four walls of shaft. Now people can work easily at all four walls at the same time without shifting machines. This machine is designed to reduce shifting cost and time. This concept is much faster than any other arrangements currently used and is considered a revolution in its industry. Bamboos, H-frames or any standard gondolas (of 7.5m size, straight) cannot take the place or importance of square-shaped gondolas.

Technologies complying with environmental norms
Here, New Age Construction Equipment Eng. Co. is manufacturing construction machineries so that all machines are based on electricity and will thus not affect the environment. But by time lapse, New Age Construction Equipment Eng. Co. has replaced some parts which were made up of plastic. The company has replaced those parts and made new upgraded machines with higher capacity.
