IFAT India 2024, a trade fair for water, sewage, solid waste, and recycling, will be held from October 16-18 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. It will spotlight innovation and sustainability with special zones, over 500 exhibitors, 25+ international pavilions, and key discussions on environmental challenges.

What special zones and highlights are being introduced at IFAT India 2024 to promote innovation and sustainability?

Several special zones have been introduced to enhance the event’s focus on innovation and sustainability at IFAT. A central highlight is the Startup Innovation Zone. It brings together emerging companies with cutting-edge technologies. This zone creates an innovation ecosystem, allowing startups to showcase their solutions directly to industry leaders and investors, encouraging disruptive technologies and new ideas. The Bio Nexus Zone is another key addition. It covers biotechnology’s role in addressing environmental challenges. This zone presents bio-based innovations in areas such as waste management and water treatment, highlighting their impact on sustainable development. The ULB Pavilion is another spot introduced to foster dialogue and collaboration between Urban Local Bodies. It focuses on sustainable infrastructure projects and the exchange of best practices.

IFAT India 2024 will host over 500+ exhibitors from around the globe, reflecting the trade fair’s growing stature as a key platform for environmental technology and innovations. We expect a huge international presence with 25 country pavilions, including powerhouses from Germany, Canada, South Korea, Switzerland and the Netherlands. These international pavilions will bring forth various technologies, products, and services, offering Indian stakeholders access to the latest global advancements. The strong participation reflects the increasing global interest in contributing to and tapping into India’s growing environmental sector. It will also foster cross-border collaborations that can lead to the co-creation of solutions tailored to the Indian market.

What new initiatives and topics will be featured at IFAT India 2024 to address environmental technology and sustainability challenges?

The conference segment is designed to enhance knowledge-sharing and innovation in environmental technology. Industry-driven discussions are on critical issues like wastewater systems, sustainable water supply, and holistic waste management. These discussions will address region-specific environmental challenges, making them relevant to India’s current landscape.

This year, the Speaker’s Corner will serve as a hub for thought-provoking presentations, bringing together experts to discuss recycling, solid waste management, and advancements in sewage treatment. Another exciting initiative is the Young Professionals Program. It is designed to grab the attention of emerging talent in the industry, offering them opportunities to connect with industry leaders and gain insights that will shape their careers.
