Ramkrishna Forgings to establish an aluminium facility in Jamshedpur

The investment of ₹ 57.5 Crores is primarily focused on the electric vehicle market, aiming to enhance performance, fuel efficiency, and reduce environmental impact through the aluminium forging industry.
Ramkrishna Forgings Limited, a leading supplier of rolled, forged, and machined products, has received board approval to establish an aluminium forging facility in Jamshedpur.
The Board of Directors has approved an investment of ₹ 57.5 Crores for a facility primarily catering to the EV market, with an installed capacity of 3,000 MT per annum. The project is expected to be commissioned by Q2 FY26, generating an additional revenue of ₹. 175 Crores per annum. In its endeavour to get in light weighting to improve the performance, fuel efficiency and reduce environmental impact of a vehicle, the Company has decided to enter into Aluminium Forging.

Ramkrishna Forgings Limited Ramkrishna Forgings was incorporated in 1981 with the objective to manufacture forged products. After commissioning of a hollow shaft line, a new 7000-tonnene press line, a 2000-tonnene warm/hot forming press, fabrication facility, RA shaft press line, and a 5” . Installed capacity as of June 30, 2024, was 229,150T. The company is headquartered in Kolkata and has state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Jamshedpur along with offices at Detroit in the USA, Toluca and Monterrey in Mexico, Istanbul in Turkey, and warehousing facilities at Hagerstown, Louisville, and Detroit in the USA, Toluca and Monterrey in Mexico, and Westerloo in Belgium.The company has expanded its forging and die making capabilities, added machining and heat treatment facilities, and isothermal annealing, enabling it to manufacture components for OEMs and Tier 1 companies. It is certified in TS 16949, OSHAS 18001, and ISO 14001, and offers closed die forgings of carbon and alloy steel, micro alloy steel, and stainless steel, available in as-forged, heat-treated, machined, and fully assembled conditions.
The company is a supplier to various sectors like automotive, railways, farm equipment, bearings, oil and gas, power and construction, and earth moving and mining, both in India and overseas markets. The company is a critical safety item supplier for undercarriage and Bogie & Shell parts for railway passenger coaches and locomotives. It is a preferred supplier to OEMs like TATA Motors, Ashok Leyland, VE Commercial, and Daimler in India and to Volvo, Mack Trucks, Iveco, DAF, Scania, MAN, UD Trucks, and Ford Otosan in the overseas markets. It supplies globally to Tier 1 axle manufacturers like Dana, Meritor, and American Axles.
