The applications include brightfield analysis of Lithium-ion batteries, phase analysis of composites, grain size analysis in technical cleanliness and more.
The Industrial Quality Solutions (IQS) division of ZEISS has strengthened its Industrial Metrology portfolio to deliver solutions to Electric Mobility, Hybrid & Fuel cell Vehicles, Electronics, Aerospace, Medical Manufacturing & Renewable Energy applications.
In Electric and New Energy vehicles, Zeiss’s metrology equipment can be used to measure and analyze the precision and integrity of various components used in electric vehicles, such as battery cells, Welded BIW, Electric motors, Transmission parts and Electronics.
In Medical manufacturing, Zeiss works in the space of Metal implants and Plastics used in Devices of the Healthcare industry. Dental, Shoulder and Spinal Implants have precise shapes with freeform profiles and need metrology equipment to help manufacturers measure such
parameters.
The above challenges can be addressed in unique ways by combining technology, data collection and traceability to suit stringent medical regulations.
At IMTEX 2023, IQS unveiled the Inverted microscope system ZEISS Axiovert for Industrial “Metrology” and “Metallurgical” applications. The applications include brightfield analysis of Lithium-ion batteries, phase analysis of composites, grain size analysis in technical cleanliness and more. ZEISS is the only supplier with Light and Electron microscopy solutions under one roof.
For traditional markets like Automotive, Auto components, and General Engineering, IQS produces CMMs at its factory In Bangalore, synching with the government initiative of the Make in India program.
In the Show, ZEISS showcased its existing metrology portfolios, such as the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) – CONTURA and Contour Measuring Machine – SURFCOM NEX SD2, Roundness Measuring Machine – RONDCOM NEX 200, and Roughness measuring machine – SURFCOM TOUCH 50 and HANDYSURF+. Also, to demonstrate the capabilities of its Quality data intelligence software in the Industry 4.0 offering, all the equipment was connected to the PiWeb Software, where live data collection and analysis was demonstrated.
ZEISS is a 177-year-old internationally leading technology company operating in the optics and optoelectronics industry.
