CNC Feedback systems and cutting solutions for high-speed precision machining
Fagor Automation’s CNC 8065elite M and 8070elite L meet the needs of modern, highspeed, and high-precision machining.
CNC Control Systems
The CNC 8065elite M, with its powerful control algorithms and digital feedback inputs, supports high-resolution feedback protocols like FeeDat and SSI, ensuring nanometer-level precision. It integrates the Sercos III Servo Bus with Industrial Ethernet technology, enhancing multi-axis functions and machine performance. The compact design of this CNC platform, featuring a reduction of up to 60 percent in size compared to its predecessors, makes it highly adaptable for space constrained setups. Its wide range of monitor and keyboard configurations, combined with a VESA mount system allows for flexible control panel designs.
Cutting solutions
Fagor Automation’s advanced cutting solutions cater to technologies, including waterjet 3D, laser 2D/3D, laser for tubes, and laser blanking. The CNC systems incorporate the Fagor Dynamic Override algorithm for real-time adjustment to acceleration and jerk control during the cutting process. The systems can handle diverse tube structures and shapes, providing flexibility in design through CNC programming. The ‘HighSpeed Surface Accuracy’ feature improves performance for laser cutting, delivering superior surface finishes even at high speeds.
Connectivity and control
The feedback systems and CNC solutions support EtherCat connectivity, allowing integration with various components like proportional valves, laser generators, and laser heads. They also feature a cutting-specific HMI, designed with 3D graphics and customisable technological tables for different materials. Specific functions like 3D GAP Control, synchronised switching, and Leap Frog are integrated to maximise performance, making Fagor Automation’s systems highly versatile in cutting applications.
Feedback systems for CNC machines
Fagor Automation’s feedback systems for CNC machines are known for their precision, reliability, and advanced technology. Their product line includes linear and rotary encoders tailored to various machine applications, such as milling, grinding, lathes, and boring mills, supporting operations with high speeds and accuracy
Linear encoders
Fagor Automation employs two measuring methods for their absolute linear encoders: graduated glass and steel. The graduated glass encoders are suitable for applications with a measuring length of up to 3040 mm, while the graduated steel encoders cater to lengths exceeding 3040 mm. These encoders provide precise position feedback for achieving the desired accuracy in high-precision machining
tasks. The encoders can handle up to 120 m/min federates and endure vibrations up to 10 g, making them ideal for heavy-duty applications.
Angular and rotary encoders
Fagor’s angular and rotary encoders utilise the graduated glass measuring method with two types of graduations: incremental and absolute. The incremental graduation generates square incremental signals for digital position input systems or a 1 Vpp analogue signal, depending on the system requirements. In contrast, the absolute graduation imprints a unique binary code along the encoder’s measuring length,
allowing precise positioning and motion control for complex machine tool applications.
