The Bologna-based Group, present in India since 1981, aims to grow on the domestic market in the Semiconductor, Consumer Electronics and Aerospace sectors.
Marposs, quality control and precision measurement solution provider inaugurated a new space of about 400 square meters in Bangalore, where offices will be located and, a tech centre where new technologies will be made available to meet the expectations of local customers, also through the development of “tailor-made” solutions for the specific needs of the domestic market.
The opening was attended by important Indian and Italian institutions such as Kum. Shobha Karandlaje (Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour & Employment MP. Bengaluru North/ Karnataka), Davide Colombo (Deputy Head of the Economic and Innovation. Department, Embassy of Italy in India, Abhijeet Sinha (Program Director – Ease of Doing Business in India), Alfonso Tagliaferri (Consolate General of ITALY in Bangalore), Luca Matteucci (Managing Director, Marposs India). Among the guests there were also numerous representatives of the local and international industry world.
Marposs has believed in and invested in the country’s growing industrial and production capacities since 1981. Initially, the presence was mainly commercial through partnerships, distributors and sales agents. In 2007, it decided to strategically strengthen its commitment by establishing a direct branch in Delhi, and in 2008, it further expanded its facilities in Gurgaon by establishing offices and service centres. Currently, the company has 6 local offices, located in the cities of: Manesar, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Jamshedpur, Pune and Bangalore.

Today Marposs India has a turnover of 20 million euros (forecast closing 2024) and employs 120 employees.
The business sectors that weigh most heavily are the automotive sector (about 50% of turnover) and the remaining half divided between mechanical components and machine tool applications. Over the next five years, growth will be concentrated in the #Semiconductor, #Consumer_Electronics, #Aerospace and #EVBatteries sectors.@Francesco Possati, HQ General Manager and Vice President of Marposs, comments: “We see great potential for Marposs in India for the reasons shared by the President of the European Commission and the Prime Minister of India a few days ago. Develop together a reliable and secure value chain with a focus on the semiconductor, e-mobility and space sectors. The opening of our tech center responds exactly to this need. This center will be the second in the world – after the one in California – focused on specific R&D activities on semiconductors and consumer electronics, leak testing on batteries, and the latest technologies for quality control of aerospace components.”
New regulatory and compliance standards are increasingly stringent across all industries and require advanced measurement and inspection technologies. Manufacturers around the world aim to meet the most stringent quality requirements, thus increasing the demand for precision measurement and control solutions in which the company is the undisputed leader.
Marposs already has numerous relationships with local industries, government institutions and research organizations, aimed at promoting innovation and developing new solutions tailored to the Indian market. It is also a partner of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the Indian automotive industry.
