Fronius India celebrates the success of the FACT-Batch 4 Valedictory programme

Fronius India, a subsidiary of Fronius International GmbH, completed its skilling project, FACT, batch 4. The programme was designed to recognise and reward participants for their hard work and accomplishments, particularly for selecting ‘welding’ as a career.
The 45-day training program of Batch 4, commenced on September 25, 2023, and concluded on November 30, 2023, encompassing structured working days. The fourth batch consisted of 24 students, with a significant majority being females (16 total), marking a notable feature of the cohort. This initiative aims to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills for excelling in welding, fostering personal growth professional advancement, and enabling entry into the industry as skilled welders.
Prgrammes’s key highlights
The program’s success stemmed from its diverse participation, drawing students nationwide and emphasising its inclusivity. Its comprehensive curriculum covered theoretical and practical aspects of welding, ensuring a thorough understanding of manual welding and crucial topics like cybersecurity, mental health at work, and soft skills. Renowned industry experts acted as mentors, providing high-quality guidance. Additionally, Fronius India extended support beyond training, assisting graduates in securing promising placements in the welding sector and fostering their professional growth. Fronius India’s 100% scholarship program magnified the initiative’s impact, removing financial barriers and enabling deserving students to access specialised training that might otherwise have been challenging to obtain.
In his deliberations as “Need of the Hour”, V.V. Kamath, Managing Director of Fronius India, expressed immense delight at the success of the Certificate Distribution Programme for FACT, Batch 4, highlighting the participants’ remarkable enthusiasm and dedication observed over the 45 working days. He emphasised their unwavering passion for learning, aligning with Fronius India’s dedication to promoting education and professional growth. The program’s positive impact on these outstanding individuals’ careers was a source of great satisfaction. Kamath acknowledged the widespread discussion about the scarcity of experienced and underscored the considerable challenge posed by the required quality and specific skill sets. He emphasised Fronius India’s pivotal role as a bridge between students and the industry, identifying it as an urgent necessity in addressing this issue.
Mr. Shrikrishna Karkare and Mrs. Alka Karkare, both Founders, Chairpersons, and Managing Directors at M/s Enpro Industries Private Limited, were highly impressed by the students’ advancements upon observing the welding gallery and the artworks they crafted. They commended this initiative and emphasised that women shouldn’t strive for distinct privileges but instead advocate for gender equality across all professions. They extended their blessings to all the students.
Empowering women in weldingMs. Priyanka Shakyavanshi, Regional Human Resources Director at Gestamp Pune Automotive Pvt. Ltd., extended her heartfelt wishes to the chosen students joining Gestamp Pune as welders. She eagerly anticipated welcoming these students at the Gestamp facility on December 10, 2023, marking their significant entry into the professional realm. Not only did she serve as the chief guest during the batch’s inauguration, but she also actively tracked the students’ progress. Her dedication to promoting gender equality further bolstered our confidence in advocating for this initiative among women in India.
Fronius deeply appreciated Ms. Ishwari Latey, Programme Assistant at The Institute for Sustainable Communities, for her informative session and guidance on workplace conduct. The workshop aimed to support this predominantly female group in navigating interactions with individuals of varied genders within their profession. Recognising the significance of gender parity in the manufacturing sector, largely dominated by men, efforts are underway to foster change that benefits society. The primary objective is educating women on workplace equity due to its crucial importance. The event provided an excellent platform for esteemed guests and keynote speakers to deliver inspiring and encouraging speeches to our students.
Fronius India sincerely congratulated all the participants for their achievements and expressed gratitude to the mentors, educators, and staff whose contributions led to the program’s success.
