Against the backdrop of a highly competitive tire market, Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT) has successfully managed to grab a good amount of global popularity and presence. P.K. Ganguly, Head Marketing – OTR, Balkrishna Industries Limited discusses their focus on material handling and construction equipment in the bauma CONEXPO.
How do you look at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2018? What kind of products are you exhibiting this edition?
The company has globally been with bauma using this platform for many years and in India also. From last three times, we are with bauma and decided to be a gold sponsor this year as it’s a good platform.
The focus this time is on construction equipment, material handling, etc., which are used in Indian road construction and infrastructure port.
You are someone who redefines the quality of tires in OTR segment.
At BKT, the strength of the product is entirely on quality. We are giving the best quality and value for money through our products, and are hence confident that we are going to be one of the top players for industrial construction.
Industrial construction segment in India is growing because infrastructure and road construction growth is going to be tremendous considering the government’s current focus on the segment. Utilisation of machines such as backhoe loaders, cement mixers, etc., will be high and we would like to take the opportunity to provide added value services to the customers.
How was 2018 for you?
It was good and we have grown almost 20 per cent. This is because we are with the segment, and have grown along with it. Next year, we feel that the same type of growth can be held.
What are the plans for 2019?
Two tires have been exhibited at bC India 2018 – radial tires for road construction with a special feature. SR 423 is the new tire we have launched and in the cement mixing size we have got a size which is radial.
Utilisation of machines such as backhoe loaders, cement mixers, etc. will be high, and we would like to take the opportunity to service customers.
