Schmersal’s Ranjangaon plant becomes fully operational

At an investment of Rs. 65 crores, the greenfield project has a capacity to manufacture 3.6 million safety switches annually
Schmersal Group, the seven decade old Germany based multinational company and a specialist in safety for man/machine interface, automation and lift switchgear has recently announced that its first plant in India at Ranjangaon MIDC, Pune has become fully operational.
Schmersal has now 7 manufacturing sites globally of which 4 are located in Germany and 1 each in Brazil, China and India. Built at an investment of Rupees 65 crores, this greenfield facility is spread over 5 acres and has a capacity to manufacture 3.6 million safety switches annually. Safety position switches, safety door switches, pull cord safety switches for conveyors and safety switches for elevators will currently be manufactured from this facility to meet the demands in Indian market. The company also plans to start exporting to its parent company from the first quarter of 2015 and then to Asean and Gulf countries as well.
