TIMTOS 2025, smart manufacturing & machine tool expo celebrates 30th edition
By Staff Report February 24, 2025 8:19 pm IST
TIMTOS 2025, co-organised by TAITRA and the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry(TAMI), will take place from March 3 to 8, 2025, at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 & 2 and Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 in Taiwan. The expo has over 1,000 exhibitors occupying 6,100 booths, focused on smart manufacturing and machine tools.
TIMTOS 2025 will showcase pioneering advancements in digital manufacturing, automation, and integrated AI & robotics solutions, driving innovation in multiple sectors beyond traditional machine tools.
TIMTOS 2025 is centred around the theme “Integrate to Innovate,” emphasising how integration and innovation are key to unlocking new business opportunities in five major sectors: semiconductors, transportation, medical, aerospace, and green energy. The exhibition will feature two new exhibit areas— “AI, Control Systems & Smart Manufacturing” and “Innovation Technology”— which will focus on AI technology integration, smart solutions development for the machine tool industry, and cutting-edge technologies such as manufacturing system integration, laser processing, circular economy, and energy-saving solutions.
30th edition of TIMTOS: A milestone year
Celebrating its 30th edition, TIMTOS 2025 carries special significance. For the first time, the show will feature a debut “TIMTOS Keynote” event, inviting global leaders from the smart manufacturing industry to present keynote speeches. In addition, TIMTOS will host various events such as procurement meetings, ESG activities, green product competitions, and guided tours, further strengthening the industry’s ecosystem.
Embracing AI & Robotics for industrial transformation
In response to the growing adoption of AI across industries, TIMTOS 2025 aims to accelerate industrial transformation with three key themes: “AI & Robotics,” “Future Smart Manufacturing,” and “Green Power & Sustainability.” Tech giants like Apple and Nvidia are making strides in the AI robotics field, and many Taiwanese exhibitors have successfully entered the supply chains of leading U.S. robotics manufacturers, sparking a new wave of growth in Taiwan’s robotics supply chain.
Future manufacturing
The “Future Manufacturing” focuses on AI-driven smart factories where robotics and cloud-based automation systems take center stage. As part of the Industry 4.0 revolution, these future factories will leverage big data, AI, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to drive manufacturing upgrades. From component design to polishing and quality control, each production process will be automated via cloud and edge computing, addressing labour shortages and paving the way for fully automated, unmanned factories.
Green Power Sustainability: Driving ESG and EfficiencyThe “Green Power Sustainability” theme will guide manufacturers toward achieving ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals, accelerating the green transformation of the machine tool industry. Reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency are now unavoidable trends, and future developments will prioritise human-machine collaboration. Smart manufacturing and automation will enhance productivity while achieving energy-saving goals. The exhibition’s three themes are interconnected, showcasing TIMTOS’ 30 editions of accumulated strength as a vital force for Taiwan’s machine tool industry.
Industry leaders take the stage: Keynote & Forum on future trends
Marking its 30th edition, TIMTOS debuts its “TIMTOS Keynote & Forum” for the first time. The morning Keynote session will feature top global and domestic industry leaders discussing the future of smart manufacturing. Distinguished keynote speakers include Akihiro Teramachi, Chairman and CEO of Japan’s THK Group, and Haw Chen, CEO of Taiwan’s Techman Robot, delivering insights into industry advancements. The afternoon Forum will host executives from Tokyo Seimitsu, Fair Friend Group, Siemens, and HIWIN, unveiling the critical competitive advantages in future manufacturing.
Accelerating the net-zero transition
As the global push for net-zero emissions intensifies, enhancing carbon resilience has become an urgent challenge for the machine tool industry and its supply chains. TIMTOS 2025 will guide manufacturers toward a more efficient, smarter, and greener future through a range of initiatives under the “ESG Action!” series. These include Keynote & Forum, Dr. Net Zero carbon consulting, Smart Manufacturing Guided Tours, and the Manufacturers Win Podcast. Industry leaders from Taiwan and worldwide will explore trends in smart and green manufacturing, equipping manufacturers with knowledge on sustainability, carbon reduction policies, resource networking, and market strategies. These initiatives will help Taiwan’s industry integrate into global supply chains and seize new opportunities in the net-zero era.
A global gathering
TAITRA announced that in 2025, it will expand invitations to buyers from Taiwan’s major machine tool export markets and emerging markets to visit and exhibit at TIMTOS. A total of 87 countries and over 3,000 international buyers have already pre-registered. Leading machine tool nations such as Germany, the United States, and Switzerland will organise national pavilions. TIMTOS continues to receive strong backing from top domestic and international brands, including Fair Friend Group, Tongtai Group, Victor Taichung, HIWIN, You Ji, Chmer, YCM, and Taiwan Takisawa, alongside global giants such as Siemens, Heidenhain, FANUC, MAZAK, and Mitsubishi, all set to showcase their latest models and smart manufacturing solutions.
