Kladana upgrades production module to simplify manufacturing for MSME

By January 16, 2025 6:44 pm IST

Kladana has released updates to its Production Module, aiming to streamline manufacturing processes and provide better control over every stage of production.

Kladana, cloud-based ERP for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), has launched updates to its Production Module, aiming to streamline manufacturing processes and provide better control over every stage of production. This major update covers the entire production cycle, including production planning, purchasing, order processing, cost calculation, payroll management, sales analytics, profitability tracking, and turnover control.

With a focus on transparency and efficiency, the enhanced Production Module is designed to simplify operations for manufacturing businesses. Of Kladana’s 50,000 clients worldwide, over 10,000 are manufacturers from industries such as clothing, food and beverages, furniture, textiles, building materials, cosmetics, and electronics. Notably, more than 1,500 companies globally now leverage the Production Module to streamline their production processes.

Key feature updates in the production module

Shop floor app

The Shop Floor App enhances manufacturing efficiency with features designed for both managers and employees. Managers can assign and track tasks, monitor production stages, and manage labour costs with detailed earnings summaries. Employees can mark tasks as completed, check required raw materials and components, receive instructions, and view their earnings within a specific timeframe. Additionally, QR codes with Bill of Materials (BOM) details can be printed, streamlining the management of raw materials and semi-finished products, making workflows more organised and efficient.

Purchasing management for manufacturing

A new purchasing management report helps businesses plan purchases based on sales and raw material consumption, while an automated stock report enables detailed inventory analysis and simplifies order creation. These features are particularly valuable for companies managing multiple warehouses.

reorder point feature informs on low-stock alerts and supports seamless stock replenishment. Additionally, businesses can manage preferred supplier profiles, consolidating counterparty information to ensure efficient supplier relationships.

Multi-level BOMs (Bills of Materials), product cost trees, and product cost estimates reports

The Bill of Materials (BOM) acts as a detailed production blueprint, outlining all components, operations, and costs required to manufacture a finished product. Kladana supports multi-level BOMs, making it ideal for managing complex, full-cycle production processes.

The Product Cost Estimates Report enables businesses to predict future production costs, aiding in better budgeting and pricing decisions. Meanwhile, the Product Cost Tree Report breaks down raw material costs for multi-level BOMs, offering clear insights that simplify production planning and financial analysis. Together, these tools enhance efficiency and cost management across the production lifecycle.

Production progress report

Kladana’s Production Progress system offers detailed insights into manufacturing processes with two report types: Progress by Finished Products and Progress by Operations.

The progress by finished products report tracks key details such as the Bill of Materials (BOM), production volumes, completion percentages, last completed operations, duration, and costs of work-in-progress (WIP).

The progress by operations report provides a closer look at specific production stages, detailing quantities, completion percentages, and estimated hours required to finish tasks.

This system offers comprehensive tracking of production time, WIP status, and product readiness, helping managers pinpoint progress and identify bottlenecks. It also allows for monitoring individual item statuses, time spent in production, and identifying operations with the heaviest workload for improved efficiency and planning.

Kladana has ambitious plans for 2025, focusing on key system enhancements to better serve diverse industries. Planned updates include streamlined contract manufacturing workflows for companies working with subcontractors, improved quality management for more efficient handling of scrap and by-products, and flexible production task management in the Shop Floor App. Additionally, parametric BOMs tailored for clothing manufacturers will offer more customisable and adaptable solutions. These improvements aim to make operations more efficient, flexible, and industry-specific.

Aleksandra Malhotra, Director of Kladana in India, said, “India’s industrial output is on the rise, with the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) hitting a six-month high of 5.2% in November 2024, as reported by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. This reflects growing production activity across the country, indicating that SMEs are scaling up operations to enhance their market competitiveness and drive growth.

In response to this trend, the enhancements in our Production Module are specifically designed to simplify complex production processes for MSMEs. These updates enable businesses to focus on innovation and growth without getting bogged down by micro-level production monitoring. With accurate, real-time information at their fingertips, entrepreneurs and managers can make quick adjustments to reduce bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and save valuable time.”
