What is the market outlook (demand / supply) for the geared motors drive industry? 

The global geared motors market by revenue is expected to grow at a CAGR of approx. 5 percent during the period 2021-2026. In 2020, the demand for geared motors has been adversely affected on account of the Covid-19 outbreak. 

The market is likely to grow with the growth in industrial production, increase in urbanisation and expansion of industries, enhancement in technological advancement, and favourable trade opportunities in developing countries. 

How do you evaluate the demand for automation, AI and robotics in the drives and motors sector? 

The term automation – Industry 4.0 includes the intelligent interlinking of digital data and processes with the physical world, i.e. with humans, machines, and smart objects. This global networking and interaction is also known as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Demand for automation is rising in multiple industries, the new norms such as social distancing and shortage of workers, expected to bring new technological changes along with automation. Along with Industry 4.0 the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) focuses on internet usage in industrial processes and procedures. IIoT aims at increasing the operational efficiency, reducing costs and speeding up processes. Sensors and sensor data playing a central role provide the basis for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. When it comes to predictive maintenance – the objective is to maintain machines and plants proactively, to reduce downtimes and to increase the efficiency of the entire plant.

Can you explain to us the details of your reach in terms of distribution network, and which markets are you targeting in the long run? 

We have a strong dealer network across the India & SAARC Countries including 25 Percent authorised dealers and 10 branch offices spread strategically across PAN India. Our reach, both for sales & service, is covering the entire Country India and neighbouring Countries too. Present growth drivers are Automation, Infrastructure, Industry 4.0, Logistics, Post & Parcel sector also construction and material handling is reviving 

Please share your company’s plans to tread in terms of investments and product expansion? 

Nord India’s first goal is to sustain the pre covid level business of achieving 200 crores and grow from there, we have identified the gaps during this covid period; few takeaways and learnings which will be addressed prima facie and draw plans further. Also, our localization which we started about 8 years ago will be enhanced on lines of Athmanirbhar. We will have more focus on electronic products and Industry 4.0 applications. We have ready products for the automation sector and see growth here.
